x = 44
you add 5x - 6 + 12x + 16 = 180 (algebra 1)
then that gets you 17x + 10 = 180
subtract 10 on both sides
which gets you 17x = 170
then divide on each side
which gets you x = 10
then you plug in x with the angle xyw
which gets you 5 (10) - 6
which then gets you 50 - 6
which means the answer is 44

Answer:

angle XYW = 44

Explanation:

Supplementary angles add up to 180 degrees. So:

(5x - 6) + (12x+16) = 180

*combine like terms*

17x + 10 = 180

- 10 -10

17x = 170

/17 /17

x = 10

angle XYW = 5x - 6

5(10) - 6 = ?

50 - 6 = 44
