Once you find what you can do to get the same denominators you will multiply the numerator with the same number as the denominator. So 4x2 and 1x2 gives us 2/8 as our new fraction. After this adding fractions is much simplier. It's as simple as adding the numerators together and keeping the denominator as the same. 3/8 + 2/8 = 5/8.
