Explanation:

it's just the same method, really, the only thing that differs between them is that the whole number will always have a denominator of 1... let me show you what I mean.

example 1:

2 ÷ 3/4

we have to add a denominator to the whole number 2 to divide the fraction/s easily.

so:

2/1 ÷ 3/4

__________________________________________________________

example 2:

3/8 ÷ 24/7

here just do the usual thing in dividing a fraction.

__________________________________________________________

steps in dividing a fraction:

  • do the reciprocal method on the right fraction.
  • change the operation to multiplication.
  • multiply
  • reduce/simplify the fraction if needed.

3/8 ÷ 24/7

  • (reciprocal method)

3 24

___ ÷ ___

8 7

(in order to do the reciprocal method, we just switch both the numerator and denominator's places, that would be the right fraction ((24/7)))

3 7

___ ÷ ___

8 24

(change the operation to multiplication, then multiply)

3 7 21

___ × ___ = ___

8 24 192

(then we just simplify/reduce...I wont further explain on how to simplify or reduce cause it's a long long explanation)

21/192 = 7/64

final answer 7/64

Answer:

well a whole number makes dividing by a fraction way easire and a fraction makes it harder to divide by.

Explanation:

dividing by a fraction is different because a whole number it would end up being a bigger number than if u divided by a fraction.
