Mrs. Jones got a new freezer. She plugged it in, and it began to get cold. The

temperature inside the freezer dropped 24 degrees in 6 hours. If the temperature
dropped at a steady rate, what was the change in the temperature in the freezer in one
hour?

The rate of change for one hour is 4°.
When you look at the problem it says the temperature dropped 24° in 6 hours . So if you divided 24 by 6 you get 4 which is the rate at which the temperature dropped per hour.
