Planning - Color Wheel

The next activity will require you to create a traditional color wheel using paint and a nontraditional color wheel using materials of your choice.

A non-traditional color wheel means you will have more creative freedom in the creation process. In fact, it doesn’t have to look like a ‘wheel’ at all! The only real requirement is that you clearly express each primary, secondary, and tertiary color in your non-traditional color wheel.

a. You can choose to draw a picture of anything you want and paint it according to the color wheel.

b. You can choose to do a more abstract color wheel and fill in the entire plate or paper, leaving no white space, so that all the colors slightly blend into each other.

c. Neither of those ideas appeal to you? Come up with your own creation – let the colors guide and inspire you!

In preparation for creating a non-traditional color wheel take time to brainstorm ideas for what materials you would like to use. Think creatively!

Create a list that of three ideas for your non-traditional color wheel. submit Complete 3-5 sentences describing each idea and submit.
