Why do you think they didn’t originally settle on the west coast of the United States (near the Pacific Ocean)?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

It used to be very difficult to travel to the west coast before the Panama canal was made. They had to circle the continents. And in the period when they started settling in the Americas the east of the continents was a lot closer to England, Spain, and Portugal. England was closest to the east coast and it was easy to trade and bring supplies there when compared to the west coast.
