Answer:

You can solve it with either substitution method or elimination method.

but elimination method is easier than substitution method, so i am going to use elimination method

lets call 2x+3y=7 as equation 1 and ,

-2x+5y=1 as equation 2

2x+3y=7 ⇒1

-2x+5y=1 ⇒2

cut 2x and -2x

2x+3y=7

-2x+5y=1

----------------

0+8y=8

y=8/8

y=1

substitute y=1 in equation 1

2x+3(1) =7

2x+3=7

2x=7-3

2x=4

x=4/2

x=2

therefore, x=2 and y=1
