The topic of experimental testing on humans causes for some ethical debate. As the article states, there are regulations and laws behind what medicines doctors can and can not prescribe: and, furthermore, pharmaceutical companies are required to provide evidence in regards to what their drug does and what the side effects consist of. Though this can strike a person as ideal, there are certain scenarios to consider: such as a patient in need of urgent, immediate care who can not be assisted by current available medicines. If the patient in question desires to branch out and be a "lab rat" so to speak, is it so wrong to allow that? This is the ethical issue.
