In the following diagram, it is known that EHG is a right angle, m EHF x   1 and m GHF x    5 5.

mEHG is a right angle, then mEHG = 90°

Given

m EHF = x

m GHF = 5x

Substituting the given parameters into the formula to get x;

x+5x= 90

6x = 90

Divide both sides by 6;

6x/6 = 90/6

x = 15

Hence the value of x is 15°

Since m EHF = x, therefore the numerical value of m EHF is 15°.

Also since m GHF = 5x, the numerical value of m GHF = 5(15) = 75°
