Explanation:
Given
Segment RS and midpoint M(-1, 13)
S = (4, 12)
R = ?
Solution
Midpoint formula
x = (x1 + x2)/2 and y = (y1 + y2)/2
Coordinates of point R
-1 = (4 + x)/2 ⇒ 4 + x = -2 ⇒ x = -6
13 = (12 + y)/2 ⇒ 12 + y = 26 ⇒ y = 14
R = (-6, 14)
