Our equation: 2x^2 + 5x - 12 = 0

Formula: x=-b±√b^2-4ac/2a

Formula: ax^2+bx+c=0

variable a=2 DO NOT INCLUDE x^2

variable b=5 DO NOT INCLUDE x

variable c=-12

Plug in the numbers to the formula:

x=-5±√5^2-4*2*-12/2*2

x=-5±√25+96/4

x=-5±√121/4

x=-5±11/4

-5±11 is the answer since were looking for any of the occurring numorators. Hope this helped!
