In times of “pandemic,” with the new normal approach in education, do you agree in the proposal to temporarily remove Physical Education and just focus with the core subjects? Why?

Some would agree that at times of a Pandemic where social distancing is required it’s better that students don’t do physical activities or classes like gym class or any sports in order for the kids to remain safe. However, some would disagree saying that an alternative to the gym class needs to be found and used so that kids may remain active despite the pandemic situation as if they aren’t active then they will gain weight, lose out on an active lifestyle and may even lose out on some skills learned while playing sports. Some parents would argue that physical education should be removed so that kids stay safe and social distance, also it’s not easy to do physical education classes with the whole virtual classroom thing. Some parents would argue that students need the physical stimulation provided by physical education classes and they need to be active especially during the time of a pandemic where people are usually inactive, when it comes to fitness at least.

I am between the two. On one hand many students do sports and are outside a lot or at least an average time. On the other hand there are kids that hate doing physical activity. I’m kinda neutral throughout this
