Answer: D. Conflict between abolitionists and pro-slavery groups to win the slavery vote in Kansas

Explanation: Since many people in Kansas had tension between one another with pro-slavery and anti-slavery, it hit the newspapers. Most people wanted slavery to end as they were abolitionists. Others wanted slavery so they could have slaves tend to their farms. Since the conflict between became so big that many people were injured and some had died, the newspapers created the headline, “Bleeding Kansas.” So this is why it was so important. Later on, Kansas became a free state meaning no slavery.

Hope this helps!
