Answer: 6

Explanation:

2(x-3)+7=13

simplify both sides of the equation

(2)(x) + (2)(-3) + 7 = 13 (distribute)

2x + -6 + 7 = 13

(2x) + (-6+7) = 13 (combine like terms)

2x + 1 = 13

subtract 1 from both sides

2x + 1 - 1 = 13 - 1

2x = 12

Divide both sides by two

2x/2 = 12/2

x = 6
