Explanation:

first, add terms

8 + 5 + 12 + 4 + 5 + 8 + 7 = 49

seven terms, therefore we divide by 7

49/7 = 7

find distance

8-7= 1

7-5= 2

12-7=5

7-4=3

7-5=2

8-7=1

7-7=0

added together you get 14,

14/7 = 2

your answer is 2
