Answer:

slope is -4

Explanation:

(-1, 1) (0, -3)

(-3 - 1)/(0 + 1) = -4/1 = -4

y + 3 = -4(x - 0)

y + 3 = -4x + 0

y = -4x - 3

Ok, My answer is marked wrong and I don't know why. Ok, kindakait asked for the slope of the line in the graph.

To find the slope of the line is
(∆y)/(∆x) \\ or so they call
(rise)/(run) \\.

We can clearly see that to be at (-2,1) from (-4,5). You have to rise by -4 units and run by 2 units. Therefor:

m = (rise)/(run) \\ m = (-4)/(2) \\ m = -2.

If you are not satisfied yet. Let's try another points. (0,-3) and (1,-5) and this is obvious by just eyeballing it.

m = (rise)/(run) \\ m = (-2)/(1) \\ m = -2.
