Explanation:
Given
Nickel n = 5 c
Quarter q= 25 c
Total change = $3.80 = 380 c
n = q + 4
Solution
5n + 25q = 380
5(q + 4) + 25q = 380 ⇒ substitute n with q + 4
5q + 20 + 25q = 380
30q = 360
q = 360/30
q = 12
n = q + 4 = 16
12 quarters
