I hope you mean perpendicular to y= 2x - 5 and that passes through (2, -5)

Take the reciprocal of the original slope. Reverse the slope to negative. Substitute the values of the given coordinates for x and y in the base equation y =-x/2 and solve for "b" the new y-intercept.

-5 = - (2)/2 +b

-5 = -1 +b

-5+1 = b

-4 = b
