If the rectangle WXYZ was reflected about the x-axis, the resulting image would have coordinates W’(-8,5) X’(-7,-5) Y’(8,10) and (4,-10). What were the coordinates of the preimage WXYZ?

The coordinates of the pre-image would be: W(8,5) X(7,-5) Y(-8,10) Z(-4,-10) as you see the at values remains the same from the pre-image to the image. When reflecting a pre-image over the X-axis only the X values will be changed. So if the pre-image X values are Negative then when it is reflected over the Values will then become positive because the image is on the other side of the X-axis. The only time the Y value will change is if the pre-image is reflected over the Y-axis. I hope this helped!!
