If an author shows us a character's thoughts in a story, will we automatically know what motivates that character? Why or why not?

Answer:

yea

Step-by-step explanation:

Because if the author is showing us their thinking process and general thinking I would believe that we would see why they are motivated to do the things that they do in the story. For example they might say in their head something like "I got to do this for Bobbb and we will see why they did it.

sorry if that doesnt make any sense have a good night.

Yes I think it shows us what the capabilities of what motivates that character but I also feel that’s it’s no. They story could change, the mindset of the character could change, you never know.
