Divide 500 by 15 that equals 33.33 then multiply that number by 12 and that equals 399.96 which is then rounded up to 400/500 people prefer eating out rather than cooking at home.

Answer:

400 people

Explanation:

15 = 12

500 = x

Cross multiply

15x = 12 × 500

Divide both sides by 15

(15x)/(15) =
(12 * 500)/(15) (* means multiplication if you do not know)

(12 * 500)/(15) = 100 × 4= 400 people
