Slope intercept form is y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. When we look at the graph we see that at x = 0 our y-value is 1. This is our y-intercept meaning that b = 1. To find the slope of the line, you divide the difference in the y-values between 2 points on the line by the difference in the x-values between 2 points on the line. Let's choose 2 points! Our 1st point is going to be (0,1) and our second point is (1,3).


m=(3-1)/(1-0)=(2)/(1)=2

After we have found both our m and b value, we simply plug in these numbers into the slope intercept form.

m = 2

b = 1

y = 2x + 1
