1. James Edward Oglethorpe for Georgia. Peter Minuit for New York.
2. Georgia had fish, timber, and fertile land. New York had fertile land, coal, fur, timber, and iron.
3. Georgia had a warm climate and swampy areas. New York had cold winters and hot summers with mountains, lowlands, and costal plains.
4. The New York colony had religious freedom and so did Georgia.
5. Early New York had self government and Georgia did not have the same freedoms and was a royal colony.
6. Only upper-class families had a strong education system in Georgia. In New York they had cheap education so the common man could be educated.
7. Georgia benefited off of slavery due to their fertile land and New York was one of the first colonies to be introduced to slavery.
