42 divide by 7 equals 6. 6 people ate eggs only. 42 divided by 3 equals 14. 14 plus 14 equals 28. 28 people ate pancakes and eggs. 28 plus 7 equals 35. 42 minus 35 equals 7.
Answer: 7 people ate pancakes only.
