Describe the system of equations as consistent and independent, consistent and dependent, or inconsistent:
4x + 2y = –6
2x – y = 8

1. i showed work
4x + 2y = -6- move constant left. change sign
4x + 2y + 6 = 0- divide both sides by 2
2x + y + 3 = 0 <— answer

2. i showed work
2x - y = 8- move constant to the left
2x-y-8=8-8- sum of two opposites equal 0
2x-y-8=0 <— answer
