ANSWER: width (w) = 11 ft

w = 3L + 5
P = 2w + 2L = 26
P = 2(3L + 5) + 2L = 26
P = 6L + 10 + 2L = 26
P = 8L + 10 = 26

Now solve for L

8L = 16
L = 2

Now plug in 2 for L in the W equation

w = 3L + 5
w = 3(2) + 5
w = 6 + 5
w = 11

Width is 11 ft
Length is 2 ft
