16+2(5m-8)-m=36

First solve 2(5m-8)

2x5m= 10m 2x(-8)= -16

Now it looks like this

16+10m-16-m=36

Cancel 16 with the -16

10m-m=36

Now here its pretty obvious

9m=36

To find m divide 9 by 36

36:9=4

m=4
