There are several chemicals that should never go down the drain. If they do, they must only go down the lab sink drain and be flushed after with water, so that there isn’t a risk of another chemical mixing with it at a later time. For chemicals that cannot be poured down the lab sink, store them in appropriate containers; plastic bottles are preferred over glass for storing hazardous waste when compatibility is not an issue.
