x=-2

Explanation:

add the 6x to the other side & combine the 2x+6x then subtract the 7 to the other side so combine the -7--9

so you would get 8x=-16 then divide by 8 & you get x=-2

Explanation:

2x + 7 = -9 - 6x

subtract 7 from both sides

2x = - 16 - 6x

add 6x to both sides

8x = 16

divide 16 by 8

x = 2
