We can algebraeically solve equations until we get the value of x - in which we will have x equal to something.

5x+5=20. Our goal is to find the value of
x. We can do this by getting x isolated on one side so we have something equal to x.

We can subtract 5 from both sides and divide both sides by 5.


5x=15\\\\x=3

We now know the value of
x since it’s on one side of the equation.
