pls help me Picture this: You're standing in line at Chic-fil-A and you hear a commotion ahead of you. You turn and see a woman at the front of the line arguing with two people working in the kitchen. She points her finger at one and says "I heard you speaking Spanish to her! This is America, we speak English here! It's people like you who are the reason my son can't find a job. Go back to where you came from!" The staff are visibly insulted, and the girl who was speaking Spanish starts to cry. In a short paragraph, explain how you would respond to this woman's outburst. Do you agree with her statement? Using evidence from today's class, how might you argue against her claim that people who speak Spanish should "go back to where they came from?"

Answer:

This is an opinion, so it can have different answers.

Step-by-step explanation:

First, I would tell this woman to stop saying that English is the only language spoken in America. The united states does not have an official language, and therefore, any language is valid. I would also have her apologize to the girl that was speaking in Spanish, because she did nothing wrong. I do not agree with this woman. Spanish people or really any immigrants have a right to the American Dream and as long as they are legally in the US, they do not need to 'go back to where they came from', because they have just as much right to live in the United States as anyone else does.
