All you have to do for this problem is multiply 4 on both sides of the equal sign so that you can get y alone on one side. By multiplying 4 on both sides you keep the problem equal to what it was before and remove the 4 on the y side. Then, -10 times 4 is -40. Your problem would say y= -40.
