A translation is when you move a point of shape in a coordinate plane

so a translation of a point to the right means you are moving the point to the right of the coordinate plane meaning the positive side of the x-axis... so in this case you will need to add 4 to the x-coordinate....

simarily to the "down four units"

moving it down means subtraction.... meaning you need to subtract 4 from -2 which gets you -6...
