Ok first you have to understand what parallel and perpendicular means. Parallel means lines that are across from one another, have continuous space between them, and never cross one another. For example railroad tracks never cross over. Perpendicular is like two line that cross over in a cross like position, and it has 90 degrees on each side. For example a cross.
