When taking an exam, some students quickly answer all the questions they know how to do. If they go back and revise their answers, they start second guessing themselves and end up changing their choice from the correct answer to an incorrect one. Other students work through the exam very slowly - they think things very thoroughly, revise their answers several times, and carefully make sure they have not missed anything. In a class where we have both these types of students together, the correlation between the amount of time spent on an exam and their grade should be:

Answer:

depends on the value of 'r'

Step-by-step explanation:

One of the basic and fundamental tools that is used by the scientist and researchers in known as association. And in order to find relation between two instances, an association is noted between two variables.

The statistical index that is associated between the two variables is known as correlation coefficient. This is known as Pearson 'r' which can be positive or negative and it ranges from -1 to +1.

If the value of r or its correlation is 1.0,the amount of time spent on an exam is longer, and the grades will be higher. It shows a positive correlation. But when the value of 'r' shows -1, then the correlation is negative and the grades will be lower those who spend more time writing the exam.
