If Molly has 9 1/2 cups of flour. This is 3/4 of the number she needs to make bread, how many cups does she need?

to find the answer, simply set up a proportion. in this case, it would be 3/4 over 1 is equal to 9 1/2 over x. to solve, multiply 9 1/2 and 1, giving you 9 1/2. in the next step, divide 9 1/2 by 3/4, giving you a final answer of 12 2/3.
