Step-by-step explanation: If it is the problem I think it is there should be a chart with the first column labeled x that includes -2, -1, 0, 1, and 2. The second column should be labeled y and includes 8, 2, -4, -10, and -16. You use the slope formula the m=rise/run which is also y2-y1/x2-x1=slope. So now you substitute y2 as 2, y1 as 8, x2 as -1, and x1 as -2. Now you do 2-8/-1- -2, which becomes 2+-8/-1+2. When you add 2 and -8 you get -6 and when you add -1 and 2 you get 1. Now we put them together to get -6/1, which equals -6, as our slope.
