Area of trapezoid 1/2(sum of parallel sides)(Height)

  • 1/2(6.1+3.8)x=11.385
  • 1/2(9.9)x=11.385
  • 9.9x=22.77
  • x=22.77/9.9
  • x=2.3

Answer:

2.3 cm

Explanation:

\textsf{Area of a trapezium}=(1)/(2)(a+b)h \quad \textsf{(where a and b are the bases and h is the height)}

Given:

  • base a = 3.8 cm
  • base b = 6.1 cm
  • h = x cm

Substituting the given values into the formula and solving for x:

\implies (1)/(2)(3.8 + 6.1)x=11.385

\implies (1)/(2)(9.9)x=11.385

\implies 9.9x=22.77

\implies x=2.3
