There is an equal number of 2 brands of watches on a shelf. Brand at watches cost $58 each, and Brand B watches cost $30 each. If the total cost of all the watches on the shelf is $22,000, how many watches are there?

let x=total number of watches
x/2*58=x/2*30=22000

58x/2+30x/2=22000
58x+30x=44000
88x=44000
x=44000/88=500
Ans:
Number of watches on the shelf=500

What I did was that, I added the cost of watch A and B and then divided the sum by $22,000
