Answer:

let i represent due East and j due north

X (displacement) = (15 - 5) i - 7 j - 3 i + 5 j = 7 i - 2 j

Total displacement = (7^2 + 2^2)^1/2 = 7.28 vector displacement

tan θ = -2 / 7 = -15.9 deg or 15.9 deg S of E

note N distance was -2 cm

E distance was 7 cm
