Explanation:

For the equilibrium position of the scale,

Weights on both the sides of the scale should be equal.

Weights on left side of the scale = Weights on the right side

Weights denoting X + Weights denoting (-1) = Weights denoting (X) + Weights denoting (1)

5(X) + 6(-1) = 3(X) + 4(1)

5X - 6 = 3X + 4

5X - 3x = 6 + 4

2X = 10

X = 5

Therefore, For X = 5, scale will be in the balanced position.
