If 3 is added to three quarters of a certain number ,the result is 30 .find the original number.

X=36

Explanation:

Let x be the unknown number

Three quarters of a number =3x/4

Three was added =3x/4 +3

Final

3x/4 + 3= 30

Multiply through with 4

3x+ 12=120

3x=120-12

3x=108

X=108/3

X=36
