Explanation:

The horizontal shift is caused by (x- pi/4) so it would go to the right a distance of pi/4. If it was positive the entire thing would go left (x + pi/4).

The vertical shift is caused by the negative 2. Unlike horizontal shifts, negative moves it down and positive moves it up.
