2x/x-5 = 4 (solve this equation)

Answer:

x=10

Explanation:

(2x)/(x-5)=4

first you multiply the denominator on both sides

2x=4(x-5)

then multiply

2x=4x-20

then move all the x variables to one side and the constants to the other with subtraction and addition

20=2x

divide and you get x=10

you can plug this in to check your work and you'll see: (2(10))/(10-5)=4 or 20/5=4 which you know is true
