As an ecologist looks at a lush, green ecosystem with lots of different kinds of grass, plants, trees, and shrubs, they would say that there was a high level of biodiversity in that ecosystem. Why would they say that? What would lead them to think that? (think in terms of producers and consumers...)

Answer:

Based on the flow of energy form the lower order to the higher order will e more in a biological diverse ecosystem.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • An ecologist looking at the lush green ecosystem with different types of trees and plants suggests that its a healthy vegetation and thus has a high level of biodiversity.
  • Due to the abundance availability of a good amount of sunlight, and water and rich quality of soil form the terms of producers and form the consumers i.e herbivorous animals the high quality of grass and green leaves to feed on.
  • This would lead to high growth and development of the herbivorous animal. And similar for the carnivorous animals would get a good amount of prey.
