Explain why a solution of a word problem should be checked using the original wording of the problem and

not the equation written from the wording.

Choose the correct answer below.

A. It is possible that errors

were made when translating from a word problem to an equation.

B. The math of an equation can not

perfectly translate to a real-life situation so the answer found may be inaccurate.

C. It is not possible to

determine whether an answer is correct based on an equation alone.

D. The units of an equation's answer

have no meaning when taken out of the context of the word problem it relates to

Answer: A. It is possible that errors were made when translating from a word problem to an equation.

Explanation:

The reason why a word problem should be checked using the original wording of the problem and

not the equation written from the wording is because it's possible that errors were made when translating from a word problem to an equation.

Word problems are the questions that involved the description on words of real-life problems. Word problems can somehow be challenging to convert to equations before they're solved mathematically. Once the conversion has been done, then the question can be easily tackled.

In cases, whereby error was made while converting from the word problem to the mathematical equation, this will lead to a wrong solution. Hence, word problem should be checked using the original wording of the problem.
