Vertex is same x coordinate

Means y is changed

f(x) has vertex (4,3)

g(x) has vertex (4,-3)

Total change

  • |3+3|=6

So the transmission is f(x)-6

Answer:

\textsf{D)} \quad f(x)-6

Explanation:

Translations

For
a > 0

f(x+a) \implies f(x) \: \textsf{translated}\:a\:\textsf{units left}

f(x-a) \implies f(x) \: \textsf{translated}\:a\:\textsf{units right}

f(x)+a \implies f(x) \: \textsf{translated}\:a\:\textsf{units up}

f(x)-a \implies f(x) \: \textsf{translated}\:a\:\textsf{units down}

From inspection of the graph, g(x) is a translation of f(x) by 6 units down.

\implies g(x)=f(x)-6
