(12)(2) = 24 Find 2 numbers whose product is 24 and whose sum is 11 (8 and 3 work)

Rewrite 11x as 8x+3x and factor by grouping:

12x2 + 8x + 3x + 2 = 0

4x(3x+2) + 1(3x+2) = 0

(3x+2)(4x+1) = 0

x = -2/3 or x = -1/4
