Explanation:

It is given that,

LM = 4x, MN = 5 and LN = 9x

Note :Consider that L is mid point of M and N

MN = LM + LN

Putting all values, we get :

5 = 4x + 9x

5 = 13 x

x = 5/13

Put the value of x in, LN = 9x


LN=9* (5)/(13)\\\\LN=3.461

or


LN=(45)/(13)\\\\\text{or}\\\\LN=3(6)/(13)
