Answer:

54 people

Explanation:

If each person occupies 2.5 sq ft, what would the estimate be on one sides of the street in an rectangle of 2 yards wide and 15 yards deep?

1 yard = 3 feet

Width of the rectangle = 2 yards

2 yards to feet

= 2× 3 feet

= 6 feet

The Depth of the rectangle = 15 yards

= 15 yards to feet

= 15 × 3 feet

= 45 feet

Area of the rectangle = Width × Depth

= 45 feet × 6 feet

= 270 square feet

We are told in the question that:

If each person occupies 2.5 sq ft,

The would the estimate be on one sides of the street in an rectangle of 2 yards wide and 15 yards deep is calculated as:

2.5 sq ft = 1 person

270 square feet =

270 square feet/2.5 square feet

= 108 people for both sides of the street

But for one side of the street

= 108 people/2

= 54 people
